Let’s face it – cushions aren’t the most masculine of home furnishings, but that doesn’t mean they should be dismissed. When it comes to bachelor pads, it is more than ok to skip out on the cushions on the bed – even I do (must be my masculine side!). Cushions on beds are purely decorative and can be more of a pain than a plus, especially when having to do the daily routine of taking them off the bed each night.
The fact that the majority of cushions are geared towards women doesn’t help the common man who just needs to add some extra furnishings to his home. Don’t let that discourage you though. Sure, cushions look good, but they are also practical: extra back support, used as pillows when you sleep on the lounge, put your head on that perfect angle when you watch TV….
So I have rounded up the most masculine cushions I could find from online retailers. They can add colour, texture and/or pattern and give your living room a homely feel rather than a sterile one:
Pony Rider also sell really cool turkish beach towels and Australian made wool blankets
Knitted, neutral, textured….Country Road have nailed the man cushion. And they are cost effective too.
Urban Couture have all your bases covered – from cushions, to furniture, lighting and home accessories.
West Elm are a one-stop shop for all things homewares and accessories. Their furniture (also worth checking out) is a mixed aesthetic of rustic, industrial and retro.
